

The DAM! Festival was last weekend and it rocked! Well, what I saw rocked! DC definitely needs more stuff like this going on. This band is called The English Department. They're from NYC and they rock!! I got a bunch of great photos 'cause they played at the Velvet Lounge. For those folks that have never been to the Velvet Lounge, it has been described as no bigger than a studio apartment, and for good reason. It was friggin' tiny! I seriously thought I was going to fall through the floor onto to the unsuspecting bar patrons below, too! Other than the weird crackhouse vibe of the club, this band rocked! I would totally see them again if they can to DC and I recommend y'all do the same.
So this next band, Let's French is their name, was really good too. Different than the first one, with a lot of energy and good songs. They're local and honestly they're probably Hill staffers or Georgetown undergrads, but still talented. The guitarist is REALLY good. He's not in this picture. He kept moving around so much that I couldn't get a good picture of him! But anyhow, I had a ton of fun, despite being dead-ass tired since it was Friday and I'm old. Plus it gave me the chance to hang out on U Street for 6 hours. I've never been around so many Ethiopian restaurants mixed with Soul Food places and barbershops. Oh, and nevermind th
